OVERVIEW
Traverse means to travel across or through or to move back and forth. I use this concept in every aspect of my one piece pattern, felt shoe. Traverse uses simple lines that overlap and cross to produce a dynamic aesthetic. My brand is centered around pure forms and raw beauty. Traverse is an organic and fashionable statement piece for your everyday outfit.

Prototyping
Now was time for me to explore the concept of pattern making. I did this by taping my foot last and sketching my designs directly on to the tape. The tape pattern was used to make a paper prototype. I next transitioned my pattern into illustrator where I was able to make rapid tweaks to my prototype and add texture. Now in the final felt material I laser cut different variations of pieces. Once I explored different options, I printed my shoe as a one piece pattern and analyzed details of aesthetics and functionality to make my final changes, which led me to my last prototype before the final shoe

Traverse can be put together following these simple steps. For ease of assembly, all the stitches are the same. Pull the thread tight and lace up your shoes, and you are ready to go.

Packaging Pattern
Final Shoe and Packaging
The packaging has traversing lines similar to the texture on my shoe. The peep holes in the shoes form are also reflected on the packaging with the cutouts on the top of the packaging which gives the consumer a sneak preview of their new shoes.
